The opening week of the 2026 preseason wraps up today with 14 teams taking the field
The first three games of the day are in the books, while Rams vs. Chiefs and Jaguars vs. Saints are underway
- Jaxson Dart threw a touchdown after spending time in the medical tent following a big hit as the Giants lost to the Vikings 13-10.
- Josh Allen led the Bills to 10 points in two drives as Buffalo cruised to a 29-14 win over the Panthers.
- The Browns lost 34-10 to the Bears as Cleveland’s quarterback competition trudged along. Deshaun Watson was solid but didn’t threaten the Bears’ defense, while Shedeur Sanders had one good deep throw but also had two turnovers.

Little hits again for Jaguars
Q1 0:22 – Saints 7, Jaguars 6
Spencer Rattler is sacked by Yasir Abdullahand fumbles, which is recovered by B.J. Green II at the New Orleans 10-yard line. But the Jaguars again don’t do much with it, and Cam Little comes on for another field goal, this time from 32 yards
Three-and-out for Rams
Q2 14:14 – Rams 3, Chiefs 0
Ty Simpson’s first preseason drive results in a three-and-out
On third-and-2, he bobbled the snap and ultimately chucked the ball out of bounds as the pass rush approached, leading to a Los Angeles punt
He did have a 7-yard completion to Max Klare on the drive though
Little hits a long one for Jaguars
Q1 1:55 – Saints 7, Jaguars 3
Cam Little makes a 54-yard field goal to get the Jaguars on the board. The drive covered minus-4 yards. Yes, you read that right. After a 15-yard punt set up Jacksonville at the New Orleans 32-yard line, the Jaguars didn’t do much
Time for Ty
Ty Simpson steps in for his first game action in the NFL on the Rams’ third drive
First time he’ll see a true, live pass rush as a pro
One positive sign for the Chiefs in the defensive red zone: Second-round pick pass rusher Mason Thomas flew around the edge for a QB pressure to help force a third-down incompletion from the Rams. The Chiefs defense was miserable on third downs a year ago, and Thomas flashed the type of speed around the corner that the team hasn’t had in a while
Rams FG
Q1 3:25 – Rams 3, Chiefs 0
Stetson Bennett’s first drive of the preseason ends in points, albeit a field goal
Los Angeles drove into the red zone but was ultimately unable to punch in a touchdown as Bennett’s third-and-goal pass intended for rookie Max Klare was broken up in the end zone
Mullens intercepted
Q1 8:39 – Saints 7, Jaguars 0
Jacksonville was putting together a nice drive led by backup quarterback Nick Mullensbit it ends abruptly in the end zone as he was intercepted by Jaylan Ford as he took a shot into the end zone
An 11-play, 53-yard drive ends with nothing for the Jags
Bennett takes the field
Q1 7:45 – Rams 0, Chiefs 0
After a brief drive by Justin Fields and the Chiefs offense, the Rams have taken over but none of their starters are on the field with Stetson Bennett is in at quarterback
Let’s see what he has to offer here this afternoon
Jaguars backup right tackle Chuma Edogais down and being evaluated by Jacksonville’s training staff
Vikings vs. Giants takeaways
Takeaways from Minnesota’s preseason victory:
- The Giants have to spend the rest of the preseason making sure Jaxson Dartdoesn’t take another shot like the one he bounced back from today.
- John Harbaugh and Joe Schoen gave up quite a bit to move up to draft Malachi Fieldsin the third round but it looks like the package was worth it.
- Brian Flores continued his dominance of the Giants offense which dates back to his last year in Miami, now up to 12 straight regular season quarters without an offensive TD allowed.
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones told reporters Thursday he didn’t want to play in this preseason game. He didn’t get his wish. Jones is out there with the rest of the first-string defensive starters for the first drive of this steamy afternoon game at Arrowhead Stadium
Rapid TD in New Orleans
Two more games are now underway in both Kansas City with the Chiefs hosting the Rams and in New Orleans with the Saints hosting the Jaguars
In fact, in New Orleans, Ty Chandlerreturned the opening kickoff 86 yards and on the very next play, Audric Estimepunched in a 9-yard touchdown, breaking tackles and bouncing to the outside
Bears roll against Browns
FINAL – Bears 34, Browns 10
Chicago finishes off Cleveland. The Bears scored the final 34 points of the game
The Panthers were beaten in all phases in a 29-14 loss at Buffalo. The first-team offense didn’t make a first down. Josh Allen shredded the starting (and second-team) defense. The Panthers will practice at Jacksonville on Wednesday. There is much room for improvement
The encouraging part of the Browns’ preseason opener is the rookie receivers. Both KC Concepcion and Denzel Bostonshowed flashes of being playmakers this franchise has craved for 30 years
The QB play? Burn the tapes of basically everything that occurred after the first quarter
Winner and loser for Minnesota today
The Vikings are preseason winners. Wide receiver Myles Pricewas a clear winner today. The dude was snagging passes all over the place. TheJamal Adamsinjury was brutal. Feel for a dude who seemed to really be establishing himself with this group. Joint practices forthcoming

Vikings beat Giants 13-10
It’s all over at MetLife Stadium, as the Vikings hold on to beat the Giants by three. New York had an opportunity to force a punt with about 1:15 remaining, but a pair of missed tackles allowed Minnesota to convert on a third-and-3
Q4 2:38 – Bears 34, Browns 10
