Move-in tips for mailing packages

As you prepare to send your favorite Hokies off to campus, here are a few tips for mailing packages during move-in. Full move-in instructions are available in the Move-In Guide
Move-in is one of the busiest times of year for Mail Services, so processing delays are more likely. Pack essentials for the first two weeks, consider shopping local when you arrive, and order early!
Submit all tracking numbers into the Mail Services Resident Portal to help ensure proper delivery and avoid refusals, delays, and returns. Correct residence hall addresses and formats are available here: How to Address Mail and Packages
Packages with incomplete addresses are refused and handed back to the carrier as they arrive
Packages with incorrect address information are held in a “Mystery” area. Students can claim them by submitting their tracking number in the Portal within the first week after its arrival
