A former Connecticut news anchor is taking on a new role in New York
Alexa Farrell, former Fox 61 and News 12 anchor, is now assistant director of communications for NYC Health + Hospitals. Farrell started the role in June, according to her LinkedIn page

Farrell reported for Hartford-based Fox 61 for six months in 2024, following her departure from News 12. She reported for News 12’s New York and Connecticut broadcasts for nearly six years and was a morning news anchor at News 12 in Norwalk from 2022 to 2024
Following her departure from Fox 61, Farrell joined Pix 11 in New York City in November 2024. She worked as a transit anchor for the station before she was laid off from Pix 11 in February, according to an Instagram post from Farrell
“I got laid off as a TV news anchor,” Farrell said in an Instagram video shared in March. “It’s funny, for someone that’s been on TV for 10 years in the public eye, this feels so vulnerable. We’re going to see where this road takes us.”

Farrell is also an alumna of Quinnipiac University, graduating in 2016 with a degree in broadcast journalism, according to her LinkedIn page
Former Fox 61, WTNH and NBC Connecticut news anchor Amanda Raus also started a new healthcare role in May. Raus started as a media relations coordinator at Bridgeport Hospital, which is part of the Yale New Haven Health system, in 2024. She now is director of media relations for the entire Yale New Haven Health system, according to her LinkedIn page
