Dodgers news: Kyle Tucker breaks career-worst hitless streak in dramatic fashionappeared first onClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as aPreferred
It had to get worse before it gets better for Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker, as he entered their Tuesday night contest against the Colorado Rockies on a 25-at bat hitless streak. Tucker, who is in the middle of a substandard campaign after signing a four-year, $240 million contract with the Dodgers this offseason, is coming off an 0-5 game on Tuesday, and many have been suggesting drastic measures to help him get out of this slump

But on Tuesday, it finally happened. The Dodgers right fielder hit an RBI double on a sharp ground ball towards right field; this snapped a 26-at bat hitless streak for Tucker, who struck out in his first plate appearance of the night
Dodgers fans have been losing patience with Tucker, as he simply hasn’t provided much bang for the team’s buck. His struggles in Dodger Stadium have been well-documented, and it’s always a worrying sign when a marquee signing can’t perform at home
At the very least, Coors Field is a good place for Tucker to try and get out of this putrid stretch from the plate. The Rockies’ home, after all, is the most hitter-friendly park in MLB, so he has to make the most of his opportunities during this series

Some have gone as far as to suggest that Tucker should be sent home or given the week off so he could recalibrate, and perhaps come back as the impactful hitter he’s always been throughout his big-league career. But LA doesn’t appear to be interested in that. They don’t have to anyway; considering how big their cushion is in the NL West standings (7.5 games at the time of writing), they can afford to let Tucker work through this poor stretch
Tucker is not fully out of the woods just yet. He’s struck out twice and he grounded out weakly to shortstop in his three other plate appearances thus far. But getting that all-important hit has to do his confidence a world of good
