Corsets might have originated centuries ago, but they’re still found influencing modern-day fashion — and while they’re typically associated with tops and dresses, shoes are part of the narrative, too. For fall 2026, FN expects corset-inspired heels and other lace-up heel styles to become a key going-out style in the women’s dress market
For their fall collections, several brands presented lace-up heels, ranging from Prada to Marni. Under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, designed antiqued leather pumps — paired with playful socks — which are now available on the luxury brand’s website with a description explaining that the fall show “explores the many facets of femininity, reinterpreting its archetypal silhouettes. The shoes “reflect a dialogue between contrasting aesthetics, where tapered yet distinct lines meet masculine details from the outdoor world.”
Indeed, the Prada-emblazoned laces, which come in different bright colors, loop through metal speed hooks reminiscent of hiking boots. The same aesthetic was applied to low-cut leather lace-up boots and feathered knee-high boots as well

A similar aesthetic was found in Marni‘s fall 2026 collection, presented the same day as Prada’s. For Meryll Rogge’s debut show as creative director, the designer showcased a variety of footwear, including lace-up architectural slingback kitten heels paired with calf-high socks. This design contrasted a retro kitten-heel silhouette with sports-inspired lacing woven through oversize eyelets. Like Prada, did lace-up low-top leather shoes and lace-up knee-high boots

Elsewhere in high fashion, McQueen has embraced corset-like footwear with a range of styles including the peep-toe Lexie Pumps worn by Sophie Thatcher and other silhouettes like the fall 2026 Koko wedge pump with brogue trim
Additional brands have backed the lace-up heel trend, with a prominent example being Jimmy Choo‘s celebrity-loved Scarlett pump, which nods to an archival style with corset lacing. The silhouette has been modeled by Michelle Obama, who donned a black version at the Democratic National Convention in 2024, and more recently by actress Kathryn Newton in white in March. To name another brand putting a twist on the aesthetic, Alessandro Michele’s spring 2026 Valentino show featured the Bustier sandal which Daisy Edgar-Jones went on to wear.
