“We got married in between shooting this movie and doing [post-production] on this movie a week before we went to Cannes for her movie [The Chronology of Water],” Meyer shares. “So, everything has been really, really congested in an electric and also sometimes overwhelming kind of way.”

Stewart shared similar sentiments while chatting with PEOPLE at the Variety Creative Impact Awards in January, describing 2025 as the “craziest year of my entire life.”
“I got married. My wife made her a movie. I starred in it. I made my movie. We went to Cannes. It’s now actually coming out in theaters, which blows my mind,” she said at the time.
She jokingly added, “I was so carbonated over the last year. I need to get flat… I need to go fizz out.”

Stewart and Meyer went Instagram official with their relationship in October 2019 and got engaged in 2021. The Spencer actress revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM’sThe Howard Stern Show that Meyer beat her to the punch with the proposal

“It’s not a given that I would be the one, you know what I mean? Like, with two girls, you never know, like, who’s going to fulfill what weird f–king gender role thing and we don’t do that or think about it in those terms,” the actress explained to host Howard Stern

“So I was like, ‘Wait, well, I’m not the one for sure.’ And so I was kind of joking for a bit, like, ‘No, I want to be the one to propose, like, I want to be proposed to’ and then she just grabbed that bowl and made it happen. It was f–king so cute,” she continued, adding that Meyer “knocked it out of the park” with her proposal

Though the pair has kept their relationship pretty private over the years, they have offered rare glimpses into their love story. In a 33rd birthday tribute to Stewart in April 2023, Meyer affectionately referred to the actress as her “favorite Shrimp.”
“Sweetheart, I love you more than all the shades of green, all the phases of the moon, all the cats in LA. Love you more than chunking express, or Denis Johnson’s already dead, or the stooges’ raw power,” Meyer playfully wrote on Instagram. “I love you more than a dominos pizza when you’re stoned, a Ricky’s fish taco when you’re hungover, and EVEN more than a plate of wings — hot and extra crispy — from rustic, aka the pinnacle of my capacity to love.”

She continued, “Some might say that’s too much love but I say those people are squares. Go big or go home! Happy birthday dude I love you so much.”
