The journalist, 71, was among the many celebrity guests who witnessed the reality star and the New York Knicks player tie the knot in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the ocean in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, Aug. 15. Reminiscing about the special occasion on CBS Mornings on Monday, Aug. 17, King shared what she felt were “the best moments” of the day

One came when the groom’s father gave a celebratory toast
“He said, ‘It’s been a great year — he’s won two rings: the [NBA] championship ring and then the ring that he’s giving to Jordyn tonight.’ I thought that was nice,” recalled King, who wore a glittery black dress with a silver ombré design
Another memorable moment, she said, was when the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy — which the Knicks won after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals in June — was brought out on the dance floor during the reception
“It was the real trophy,” she explained, “and everybody was singing, ‘New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made.’ Everybody was singing that.”

King added, “To see all those guys [Towns’ NBA friends] on the floor with all those guests was so nice.”
King gushed that the newlyweds “looked so happy” and shared that she likes to look at the groom during wedding ceremonies when the bride is making her way down the aisle. On Saturday, she observed Towns, 30, “grinning from ear to ear” as Woods, 28, approached him at the altar in her white gown
“When she stepped up there, he said, ‘You look amazing.’ I said, ‘Awww,’ ” King remembered, adding, “You know I love love. It was beautiful.”

Other celebrities in attendance at the wedding include Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Teyana Taylor, Michael B. Jordan, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, per Page Six
King said that while she didn’t see Jordan there, she did spot Tracy Morgan and several Knicks players
Following Woods and Towns’ star-studded wedding, Vogueshared a behind-the-scenes video of Woods’ bridal fitting with designer Danielle Frankel. The model wore three different dresses for her nuptials, including a strapless silk gown with a gathered skirt and subtle lace details for the ceremony. The look included a delicate lace neck scarf
“It’s honestly everything I could have wanted,” Woods said. “This is better than what I thought my dream wedding dress would be.”

Woods and Towns announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Christmas Day last year after more than five years of dating. They were longtime friends before their relationship turned romantic, and Woods credited that foundation for their strong connection
“I think it’s kind of cool dating your best friend,” she said on her Instagram series Regular-ish in September 2021. “We know each other. We know each other’s hearts. We know each other on good days and bad days, and we’ve been through a lot of bad days together.”
