Cory Cox of Perryville has resigned from the Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees effective Thursday, Aug. 20
Cox’s resignation is subsequent to his recent appointment by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a special justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court
“We are grateful to Mr. Cox for his excellent service on the Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees,” said ATU President Dr. Russell Jones. “His affection for and loyalty to Arkansas Tech have been evident throughout his tenure as a trustee. We wish him the best in his future endeavors and his continued service to the people of Arkansas.”
Sanders appointed Cox to the ATU Board of Trustees two years ago. Cox took the oath of office on June 20, 2024, and was serving a term that was due to expire on Jan. 14, 2027
Cox graduated from Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science in 1996. He was active in ATU Student Government Association and ATU Student Activities Board during his time as an undergraduate student
“Tech gave me my start in life,” said Cox. “Were it not for the education and experiences Tech provided, I would not be where I am in my career today. I want to thank the staff and the other board members for always being kind and professional during my dealings with them.”
The next scheduled meeting of the ATU Board of Trustees is set for Thursday, Oct. 15, at Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Room in Russellville
