Ohio (WTVG) – Local health advocates are urging Toledo residents to prioritize their health as the annual Black Men’s Wellness Day returns to the community this weekend
The event, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Jesup W. Scott High School, will run from 7 a.m. to noon, aiming to address health disparities while providing a supportive, family-friendly environment
Free health screenings will begin at 7:00 a.m. Medical professionals will be on-site to conduct blood pressure checks and other essential health evaluations
Organizers emphasize that the event is designed to make healthcare access approachable and engaging
Following the morning screenings, a 5K Walk/Run will kick off at 9:15 a.m
In addition to health services, the event features a Kids Zone with interactive wellness activities, a Senior Pavilion tailored for older community members, and live entertainment
“Don’t wait until something feels wrong to start paying attention,” event organizers shared in a statement. “Get checked out, not checked in.”
