Gold Country Kiwanis, along with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation, will host a Community Fitness Day on Saturday, July 25, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the bandshell at Pioneer Park, 423 Nimrod Street, Nevada City.
Learn how to stretch your muscles in an easy and efficient manner while participating in a fundraiser for local children.
Harvard Health Publication calls tai chi/qigong “moving meditation.” It has proven tai chi and qigong can boost your immune functions, increase brain activity, reduce depression, improve balance, dexterity, lower blood pressure and can help improve sleep and many other health issues.
The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s Harp Group will be in attendance to entertain everyone.
Qigong helps with strength, balance and fitness with easy, ageless movements. Tai chi movements help support cognitive fitness. Attendees are encouraged to participate in these demonstrations.
Breakfast items and coffee will be provided by Gold Country Kiwanis.
There will be a silent auction with items donated by local merchants – “Shop Local!” There will also be a raffle with several extraordinary items. Donations are always welcome. All proceeds will benefit children in the community.
