Will Bold Color Be a Fall 2026 Fashion Trend?

As summer quickly comes to a close, all style sights turn toward forthcoming fall trends. While the current season saw an elevation of wardrobe staples mixed with personality-driven motifs and prints, certain late-summer looks seem to indicate bold color’s staying powerfor autumn

Over the past several days, Copenhagen spring 2027 fashion week attendees have popped in bold colorways and contrasting shades. Vibrant jewel tones have been the standout trend, with royal blues and ruby reds contrasting one another for statement-making style moments

Warmer tones reminiscent of autumnal color-scapes eschewed some of the jewel-based boldness in favor of milder shades. Contrasted by other fall staples like black lace paired with muted fall tones, bold displays of color were plenty around the runway shows

It’s not only on the streets of Copenhagen where rich, colorful fashion moments have been spotted. On the red carpets in Los Angeles and during promotional circuits in New York City, several high-profile stars are making use of bold color in their respective wardrobes

While attending the “Ted Lasso” season four premiere in New York City on Tuesday, Juno Temple showed off her proclivity for both the ongoing Y2K style resurgence and the use of vibrant color. The Emmy Award-nominated actress wore a Gucci gown from the label’s spring 2003 collection, during Tom Ford’s era as the creative director of the Italian luxury fashion house

The dress was the same one worn by Jennifer Lopez at the premiere of “Gigli” in July 2003. The only difference? Instead of the chocolatey brown shade sported by the “Jenny From the Block” singer, Temple opted for a bold shade of teal, accentuating the plunging V-shaped neckline and emphasizing its corset-style bodice

Not dissimilar to Temple, Monica Barbaro closed out her “One Night Only” press tour with a short and sweet minidress by Trochopoulos. The contrasting red and white horizontal stripes gave a nod to illusion dressing, but the key to the look was the vibrant pop of color

The fall 2026 runways included several trends worth noting as the season approaches. Playful proportions, checkered motifs and dark foliage all made it to the runway, with bold uses of pink and red incorporated into the Celine, Prada, Balenciaga and Akris, among other labels, collections

Buyers praised the use of color following spring 2026 presentations in June 2025, with bold, expressive uses of color implemented throughout Dior and Willy Chavarria’s collections. If the last week in Copenhagen, combined with a few recent looks from celebrities and last year’s buyer , tell us anything, vibrant color use should surely continue into autumn
