Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…
Wickliffe Public Library will be hosting the program “Staying Connected: No-Cost Captioned Telephones for Individuals with Hearing Loss” at 1 p.m. Sept. 2
This informative session is designed for senior citizens, adults and anyone experiencing hearing loss who wants to stay confidently connected with family and friends, according to a news release. Officials will introduce CapTel captioned telephone technology, which provides real-time captions of phone conversations so users can read what the other person is saying while listening
CapTel phones are fully federally funded, meaning there is no cost to qualify and receive the telephone for those who meet the hearing loss requirements
During the program, officials will explain eligibility, demonstrate how the phone works, and walk through the simple application process. They also offer professional installation at no cost, or individuals may choose to set up the phone themselves
Call the library at 440-944-6010 to register or register online. The Wickliffe library is located at 1713 Lincoln Road
