U.S. news ranked institutions based on 13 indicators, with a focus on research-oriented measures, such as global research reputation and international collaboration
UT earned a No. 28 ranking in global research reputation and No. 15 ranking in regional research reputation, according to the report.
The university’s top-ranked subjects included: space science, arts and humanities, geosciences, physics, chemistry, social sciences and public health, psychiatry/psychology, mathematics, computer science and materials science

The university is second only to Rice University, a private school in Houston, for the highest 10-year ROI in the state.
The average cost of attendance at the public university is $29,361, and alumni average annual earnings 10 years after enrolling are $78,721.
