Minn. — The Mower County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory for Austin and greater Mower County
All travel that is not an emergency is advised against due to flash flooding
A news release from the sheriff’s office warns against driving into water-covered roadways
“Vehicles are prone to stalling out in standing water or being swept away by moving water,” the news release said. “It is imperative motorists do not drive into roadways and intersections covered by standing water.”
Public works crews are working on getting known flooded intersections and roadways marked with barricades, the news release said
