Snowmass approves recreation and wellness benefit for council

Snowmass Town Council unanimously approved on second reading July 6 an ordinance providing future mayors and town council members with a recreation and wellness benefit
This ordinance applies only to future council members and mayors, not those currently holding office. This benefit is already available to other qualifying town employees, according to a public notice
“The recreation and wellness benefit allows for eligible employees to be reimbursed for qualifying expenses related to health, well-being and fitness, up to amount determined during the annual budget process,” the notice states
The current recreation and wellness benefit is $1,700 per year, and is a taxable benefit.
