Shelby event offers travel tips and charity support

Residents looking for inspiration for their next trip can attend a travel-focused community event in Shelby later this month
According to a community announcement, 100+ Women for Shelby will host “Let the Adventures Begin! Travel Ideas & Tips” from 6:30-8 p.m. July 27 at the Shelby Community and Senior Center, 154 N. Gamble St. Doors will open at 6 p.m
Organizers said the program will feature experienced travel advisors sharing destination suggestions, planning strategies and practical travel advice aimed at helping guests prepare for future trips
Attendees also will be able to participate in travel-themed bingo and a raffle
Event combines travel advice and fundraising
Raffle proceeds will be used to purchase gas cards for local charities that assist individuals and families with transportation needs, according to the announcement
Heavy appetizers and desserts will be served during the event
Admission is $15 per person. Members of 100+ Women for Shelby may attend at no cost
