Police are seeking additional victims following the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman with a foreign object in North Hollywood, law enforcement announced Monday
Rodrigo Melgar, 27, was arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a woman who was walking home from the gym on July 19, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The victim was on a pedestrian bridge at Valleyheart Drive and Laurel Grove Avenue when she was grabbed by her hair from behind, thrown to the ground, and penetrated with a foreign object

Witnesses who saw the assault intervened, causing the assailant to run off
Melgar was arrested in connection with the case after LAPD received multiple tips that led to his investigation. He faces charges that include sexual penetration with a foreign object
Detectives believe there may be other victims due to the nature of the assault. He’s known to have frequently used local bus routes as his main means of transportation
