Kenny’s East Coast Pizza has closed after about 10 years in Plano, near Preston Road and West Park Boulevard
The casual restaurant brought a little bit of owner Kenny Bowers’ Boston upbringing to the Dallas area. Kenny’s was a family-friendly place with a menu of meatballs, Italian chopped salad, baked ziti, chicken scallopini and the like. Most customers were there for the hand-spun pizzas, which included a white alfredo with pesto, a “straight up pepperoni” and a meat-lovers called the Hot Mess, stacked with sausage, hamburger, pepperoni, mushroom, onions, jalapeños and mozzarella cheese
The menu dared customers to try the Bada Bing Challenge, a 10,000 calorie, 32-inch pizza. Those who tried and failed got their photo on the Wall of Shame

It isn’t clear why Kenny’s closed, and Bowers wasn’t available for comment. The restaurant had been open almost exactly 10 years, since August 2016
Commenters on social media begged for Bowers to bring the chicken wings and gluten-free crust to a new location
The company continues to operate four other restaurants: Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill and Kenny’s Italian Kitchen, both in Addison, and Kenny’s Burger Joints in Plano and Frisco
Wistful diners, be glad: Some of Kenny’s East Coast Pizza’s appetizers, salads and pastas remain on the menu at Kenny’s Italian Kitchen
