Americans consume roughly 20 billion hot dogs each year, or 70 hot dogs per person, on average, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC)
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Americans eat an estimated 7 billion hot dogs, enough to stretch from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles more than five times, according to the NHDSC
