Eric Bieniemy’s family is facing an unimaginable tragedy
The Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator’s wife Mia Bieniemy was hospitalized after their son Elijah Zion Bieniemy allegedly shot her in their Ashburn, Virginia, home on July 26, E! News can confirm

Eric returned to the Chiefs as their offensive coordinator earlier this year after he previously held the position from 2018 to 2022
At the 56-year-old’s introductory press conference in January, he sparked excitement amongst Chiefs fans after hinting that the team’s tight end Travis Kelce would be returning for the upcoming season following speculation that he was considering retirement.
While the NFL star has since confirmed that he’ll be returning to the field for the 2026-2027 football season, Eric expressed enthusiasm at the opportunity to work alongside Travis and quarterback Patrick Mahomes again
“I’ve had a small minimal conversation with both,” he said during the January 28 press conference, “and they all have been great, but more than anything, it’s just the excitement of reuniting.”
