Luxe List: Art as fashion
You can’t hang it on your wall, but you can hang it in your closet

Before there were vintage consignment stores on every corner, before there was The RealReal and high-end boutiques had luxury re-sale arms of their business, there was What Goes Around Comes Around — the original innovator in the space. What Goes Around Comes Around has been the premier voice in luxury vintage accessories and apparel since before the millennium. On the WGACA website, it describes its business as one “that cultivates and preserves the fine art of fashion from the most prestigious houses, luxury and designer brands.” That ethos makes the fact that What Goes Around is popping up at Hotel Jerome in Aspen during Art Week even more apropos.
As the Aspen Art Museum presents its second annual AIR, leading up to its premier benefit, Art Crush, and two art fairs take over town (including the Aspen Art Fair, also at the Jerome), What Goes Around will be open in The Aspen Times Building from Saturday, July 25, to Sunday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. WGACA boasts three standalone stores: two in New York City and an LA outpost, but this week Aspen is home to a What Goes Around Comes Around all its own
Rare and limited-edition Hermès bags, pieces from collaborations that are the stuff of fashion lore (i.e. a Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse trunk once owned by André Leon Talley), Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel skiwear and even vintage rock tees and Levis will all be on hand, just begging to be added to your closet. There will even be Chanel skis (just what every shredder needs) and a Chanel surfboard for sale (I suggest the designer equipment serving as decor rather than as additions to your quiver, but that’s just me). This is the stuff of fashion dreams. Even if you aren’t in the market for a piece of fashion history, the What Goes Around pop-up feels like a dreamy sartorial museum for those more in the market to browse rather than buy.

In other exciting fashion news during an art-filled week, Libertine will take over The Little Nell boutique with a residency from July 29 through Aug. 4. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the pop-up will showcase Libertine’s spring/summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection, alongside an assortment of their maximalist designs, specifically curated for Art Week. There are even some one-of-a-kind exclusive pieces made especially for the brand’s Aspen stint. Expect bright colors, bold prints, wild embroidery, beading and more, all resulting in a collection that feels like wearable art. Clearly, this is the week to splurge on fashion you’ll have forever — seasonal trends, be gone!

Finally, once Art Week has come to an end, FoundRae is throwing a hosted cocktail benefiting the Roaring Fork Conservancy, which serves our valleyug. 1, you can add to your jewelry box while contributing to the environment. Now that’s a win-win.
