Luka Dončić invited his Los Angeles Lakers teammates to his home country of Slovenia for a minicamp in August and offered to pay for their intercontinental travel, according to a leagueo speak publicly
Dončić, who didn’t participate in the Lakers’ veteran camp in Las Vegas earlier in July, has been in Europe since the offseason began, fully recovering from the hamstring strain that ended his season before the playoffs and spending time with his two young daughters
The Lakers underwent a significant roster overhaul this summer, building their future around Dončić and Austin Reaves with the additions of Walker Kesslerili and Collin Sexton on the first day of free agency
The Lakers have since added backup center Kevon Looney, wings Zaire Williams and Matisse Thybulle, and guard Jaden Hardy. They also traded up to select rookie Cameron Carr and promoted Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract after a strong summer league performance
