Groups and organizations can request a presentation from the County’s community outreach team to explain how federal changes impact CalFresh and Medi-Cal recipients. So far this year, more than 120 presentations to over 6,000 people have taken place.

The Board of Supervisors approved $1 million for a food distribution program on June 25 as part of the Safety Net Bridge effort, designed to support about 93,500 people at risk of losing CalFresh benefits. The food distribution events are the first component of the program to launch. Later this year, the Board is expected to consider a pilot project that would support those at risk of losing Medi-Cal.
