CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Paddlefest swam into Cincinnati for its 25th year, attempting to break a world record and support a local nonprofit
Paddlefest kicked off at 7 a.m. on August 1, and although inclement weather caused some delays, the event still continued as expected
The 25th anniversary marked a special year for the event, since the organizers at Adventure Crew decided to go for a world record – the Guinness World Record for “Largest Paddle Craft Party.”
The event must pass 1,105 “human-powered watercraft, such as kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), on the water simultaneously for at least 15 minutes,” according to a press release from Adventure Crew. As of July 28, there were 1,660 participants signed up for the event, but official numbers of how many participated were not immediately released
Adventure Crew is a nonprofit organization with the goal of connecting city teens to nature and the outdoors
