Kan. — The latest addition to Fort Scott’s fitness scene has gotten yet another round of funding

The new Fort Scott Fitness Court just received a $25,000 from the city’s Area Community Foundation. This comes after its ribbon-cutting and launch for the court less than two weeks ago

Director of Community Development Rachel Carpenter says the court has already hosted different events like Battle of the Badges and more are planned for the future. She says this new grant will allow the city to keep updating the park to continue making fitness a priority in the community

“We have gotten a lot of great feedback on social media about the fitness cohort and how they wanted a free amenity like this in our community. Very community-minded project,” said Rachel Carpenter, Fort Scott Director of Community Development & Human Re
A previous $50,000 grant from the National Fitness Campaign and matching city funds helped originally bring the fitness court vision to life
