Fla. — A back-to-school event was held on Sunday morning
It occurred at the Old Navy located inside Oakwood Plaza in Hollywood
During the event, shopping carts were quickly filled with jeans, shirts, shoes and other back-to-school essentials as children made their way through the store
They weren’t doing it alone, though
Volunteers, first responders and even people dressed as superheroes shopped right alongside the children, helping make the morning feel a little more special

The event was organized by Voices for Children of Broward County, a nonprofit that supports children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment
According to the organization, the event “is a part of Voices’ year-long 15th anniversary celebration and expands its mission to ensure that every child and young adult in Broward County who has experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment has access to essential reng.”
