- TRUMP SAYS IRAN CEASEFIRE ‘OVER’:President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he thinks the ceasefire and interim agreement to end the war with Iran are now “over.” He said he would allow negotiators to keep talking but that “it’s just a waste of time dealing with them.”
- IRAN, U.S. TRADE STRIKES:The president’s comments came after Iran launched attacks against American bases in the Gulf, retaliating for a new wave of strikes by the U.S. which said Tehran hit three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. also revoked Iran’s ability to sell oil on the global market.
- TEHRAN SAYS U.S. MADE DEAL ‘INEFFECTIVE’: Prior to Trump’s comments, Iran said that U.S. and Israeli actions “have rendered key and fundamental elements of the agreement to end the war ineffective,” Iran’s foreign ministry said.
- KHAMENEI FUNERAL:The sudden escalation came as Iran was holding a massive dayslong funeral for its slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Peace talks appear to have been paused amid the funeral events, which moved Wednesday to the Iraqi city of Najaf.
- NATO SUMMIT:President Donald Trump is meeting with NATO allies for the second day of their summit in Ankara, Turkey. Denmark’s leader vowed to defend Greenland after Trump said again that the Arctic territory “should be controlled by the United States.”

Calling Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait “unacceptable,” Kaja Kallas said in a post on X that Iran had violated the memorandum of understanding it signed with the U.S. by attacking ships near the Strait of Hormuz

“We have attacked very powerfully last night the very dangerous people from Iran,” Trump told reporters in Ankara. “They’re sick. There’s something wrong with them. We say go and do your funeral stuff, and instead of that, they start shooting rockets at ships yesterday, and so we hit them very hard last night, very hard. I would say 20 to 120 times tougher.”
