Perhaps the biggest deal is that they hired Christian Parker as their new defensive coordinator. Now, it’s up to Parker to improve this defense, because the past few years, the offense was never really the problem for the Cowboys
However, the Cowboys’ defense isn’t perfect yet. One NFL analyst thinks this team needs to invest in a veteran cornerback to make sure that defense is solid for the new year
Cowboys could add veteran cornerback depth
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has a feature out on Thursday projecting the fate of a handful of free agents in the NFL. In it, he sees the Cowboys signing Adoree’ Jackson for cornerback depth. He thinks Dallas will sign Jackson to a one-year deal. Jackson’s career earnings are around $53 million, according to research from Spotrac

“The Dallas Cowboys have made a few splashes this offseason, and they made another when they signed Miller to bolster their pass rush,” he notes in the piece. “It appears, though, that Dallas isn’t done improving its defense.”
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has reported that the Cowboys are looking for “additional cornerback depth and could target a veteran with coaching ties.” Fowler also said that Jackson is a “name to watch.”
“Dallas is likely to continue weighing options, and Jackson reportedly has interest from multiple teams,” Knox adds. “However, the prediction here is that Jackson opts for familiarity and stays in the NFC East.”
