The Miami Dolphins had the weekend off from practice, following their 20-7 loss to the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in their preseason opener on Friday
After those rest days, they returned to their practice field at their Baptist Health Training Complex on Monday for Day 12 of their first training camp under new head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan

Here’s what happened throughout the session, according to the local beat reporters who were on the scene
Per the Miami Herald’s Omar Kelly, wide receiver Chris Bell, who was just brought off of the NFI list on Monday, was in a red non-contact jersey and did just individual drills. Defensive back Dante Trader Jr., who has been out with an injury, joined Bell is individual drills
According to the Miami Herald’s c. Isaiah Smalls II, wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. only did individual drills
Kelly reported that rookie wideout Caleb Douglas left practice for a bit, but he did come back later on
Linebacker Jordyn Brooks, cornerback JuJu Brents, linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. and defensive lineman Kenneth Grantwere not seen during Monday’s session
Quarterback Quinn Ewers, who suffered a groin injury in the preseason opener, didn’t participate either
Per team reporter Travis Wingfield, quarterback Malik Willis had several “wow” throws, including a third-and-7 pass to Douglas with cornerback Ethan Bonner on Douglas’ hip
Wingfield also noted that quarterback Cam Miller hit wide receiver AJ Henning for a 65-yard touchdown and rookie wideout Tahj Washington for a 50-yard score
Wingfield highlighted offensive linemen Jonah Savaiinaea and Austin Jackson’s days blocking. However, Jackson was reportedly beat by linebacker Chop Robinson, who had two sacks on the day
Rookie defender Kyle Louis, who has been working with the linebackers, did individual and team drills with the safeties. That’s something we expected to see throughout his rookie season, especially considering the lack of depth in the secondary
Willis hit tight end Greg Dulcich for a 35-yard gain in team drills
Defensive back Lonnie Johnson broke up a Mark Gronowski pass that was intended for Jalen Reagor. Defensive back Miles Battle also broke up a Gronowski pass that was going to wide receiver Jalen Tolbert
Safety Michael Taaffe broke up a Willis pass that garget Douglas
Reagor had a drop on a pass from Willis. Tolbert dropped a pass from Miller
Cornerback Marco Wilson dropped a diving interception. Cornerback Alex Austin sacked Miller
New offensive tackle Caedan Wallace was called for a false start
Taaffe and linebacker Willie Gay reportedly pressured Willis to force incompletions
