Tech stocks closed out a mixed day on Monday, as Meta (META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg laid out his vision for the future of AI and Intel announced it will sell $15 billion in stock
Meta stock was flat on the day
In his manifesto, Zuckerberg emphasized building out AI for all
“Some argue that superintelligence itself or a small set of experts who control it should decide what is best for humanity. We disagree. The history of democracy and economics has shown that there is no single objective answer to how people define the best life, and therefore the best approach is letting people decide what matters in their own lives,” he wrote
Zuckerberg also announced the company’s new Muse Glimmer, an open-weight model that users can download and run on their own devices
Intel (INTC), meanwhile, said it will sell $15 billion in common stock to help fund its growth as it continues to see demand for its chips as a result of the AI boom
On the earnings front, Supermicro (SMCI) and CoreWeave (CRWV) will report their results after the bell on Tuesday
