STYLISH COMMUTE:Burberry is taking its fall story back to the streets of London, following a busy summer with luxury hotel takeoversand a star-studded campaign tied to World Cup frenzy
For the latest fall campaign, the brand translated chief creative officer Daniel Lee’s rain-soaked and trench-led runway vision into a character study of stylish commuters amid rush hour, portrayed by models Rosemary Ferguson, Cherif Douamba and Haojie Qi

The campaign is centered around the fall collection’s ode to “life in the trenches” and celebrates the beauty of the city’s dark, wet days. Models can be seen posing on the pavement of Blackfriars Bridge, by the entrance of a tube station, and in a Southbank office overlooking a gloomy skyline

The video version of the campaign comes with a lighthearted narration from Matthew Streeton, one of the voices behind London’s transport announcements, turning delays, crowds and drizzle into “an affectionate portrait of city life and transitional dressing,” the brand said
The campaign features the English heritage brand’s core offering: trenchcoats and scarves, reworked to fit the modern commuter life. Some of the highlights included the Foxfield, a 1970s archival trench design in tropical gabardine; the nylon relaxed-fit trench style Leadenham, and the Mayfair cropped trench jacket in leather and wool twill, all touched with tonal checks and leather trims
It also spotlighted Burberry-coded sartorial wardrobe classics like double-breasted coats, pinstriped jackets, check-trimmed polo shirts, cashmere knits and wool blanket capes, as well as function-focused accessories like pointed pumps, riding boots and an owning-it take on the brand’s association with “ludicrously capacious” bags
The “ludicrously capacious” line came from the TV show “Succession.” It was originally used to mock bringing a giant Burberry tote to a billionaire’s party as a major social mistake. But in recent seasons, giant bags like the Chanel maxi flap in grained leather have become the hottest fashion items
