An hours-long power outage was impacting the Hollywood Hills and Brentwood as a heat wave reached peak temperatures on Saturday
Some neighbors say their power went out around 6 p.m. Friday and lasted for more than 17 hours, leaving families to deal with the dangerous heat without air conditioning

The department said the outages in those areas were linked to an underground circuit that had to be repaired and that crews were working around the clock to fix it
According to the LADWP’s “Power Outage Map,” the power was fixed in those communities by 3:30 p.m. But people whose power was knocked out overnight say they’re frustrated
“It’s kind of sad and can’t believe it’s still happening,” Hollywood Hills resident George Ganim told NBCLA. “They’ve got to fix that, really. It’s been happening a lot.”
