The staff at Sacred Heart Hospital is undergoing a few changes
ABC‘s Scrubs has promoted Ava Bunn, who plays intern Sam Tosh, to a series regular for the revival’s second season. She’ll join original series stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison as a regular in the coming season, which is set to premiere in the fall
Two season one castmembers are not returning, however:s Dr. Kevin Park and Nurse Raymond, will not be back
The rest of the show’s intern class — Jacob Dudman (Asher Green), David Gridley (Blake Lewis), Layla Mohammadi (Amara Hadi) and Amanda Morrow (Dashana Trainor) — will return in recurring roles, as will Michael James Scott as Nurse Dubois, Vanessa Bayer as hospital HR rep Sibby, and Rachel Bilson as Charlie, a potential love interest for Braff’s J.D. Original series actors Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn and Robert Maschio will also recur, and Christa Miller will guest star
Season two of Scrubs will continue to follow J.D., Elliot (Chalke) and Turk (Faison) as they work to lead and train the next generation of doctors while navigating the ups and downs of their jobs. The show’s first season performed solidly for ABC, averaging 8.5 million cross-platform viewers over five weeks of viewing
