On July 20, I made a contribution to the James Talarico senatorial campaign through a text solicitation. Beginning the following day, I began receiving an unprecedented volume of Republican fundraising texts from numerous phone numbers and organizations, many of them marked GOP.

Re: “Mosques open doors to counter misconceptions – Muslim leaders invite neighbors, answer questions, explain Shariah,” Tuesday Metro & Business story. 

The article inspired me. Reporter Steven Sloan wrote, “Vice President JD Vance said small but loud voices would speak on America’s birthday about its imperfections instead of its greatness.” Sloan quoted Vance: “They will tell you that America is just another country, where the weak struggle against the strong.”
