The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy, will be one of the key players in the offense when the team starts NFL regular-season action. He’s coming off an efficient but shortened last season and will be looking to bounce back

Entering his fifth career season, Purdy has been compared to Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees, who played for the New Orleans Saints. During a recent conversation with ex-NFL head coach Jason Garrett, Purdy addressed the comparison
“I think we do have similar paths in terms of we’re competitors,” he said on Coach2Coach with Jason Garrett. “We always found a way to win, and we didn’t go to big schools or anything. I went to Iowa State, he went to Purdue, but at the end of the day, I feel like we’ve both been able to find ways to elevate guys around us in our play and their play.”

However, apart from the comparison, the two QBs have a lot in common. While both of them had an underdog path to the NFL, their physical stature and passing efficiency remained similar

Brees, 6-foot, 209 pounds, and Purdy, 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, look almost identical on paper according to their listed body measurements. To top it off, neither possessed the strongest arm, yet they succeeded in their own ways
“And we find ways to win, man. I love quarterbacks who are tough and they can go through and play through tough things and situations, environments, physical pain, and you still find a way to win,” Purdy further added on the comparison
