Ky. (FOX 56) — A major grocery store chain serving Kentucky is rallying customers to help fight hunger across central and eastern communities in the Bluegrass with the third annual Peanut Butter Food Drive
According to an Aug. 19 news release, the Kroger drive invites shoppers to donate jars of peanut butter to support the God’s Pantry Food Bank and its network of partner agencies to bring the nutritious, shelf-stable staple to families, children, and seniors in need

Drive organizers said God’s Pantry served a large network of counties across central and eastern Kentucky, providing millions of meals each year through food pantries, meal programs, and community partners. Donations from Kroger’s Peanut Butter Food Drive will help strengthen these efforts and provide vital support to neighbors facing food insecurity
“Hunger can affect anyone, and community partnerships like this one are essential to helping us meet the growing need across our 50-county service area,” said Danielle Bozarth, Interim President & CEO of God’s Pantry Food Bank. “We are grateful for Kroger’s continued commitment to helping feed our neighbors. Their partnership, along with the generosity of Kroger customers, makes a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing hunger in Central and Eastern Kentucky.”

Officials said that Kroger stores would be accepting donations of peanut butter jars, as well as monetary donations, where available, to help the God’s Pantry Food Bank’s hunger relief programs. Shoppers can also purchase peanut butter to donate from stores
