Cambodia is offering airlines up to $60,000 in co-marketing support as it seeks to turn expanding airport capacity and new air routes into stronger international tourism demand
TheCambodia Tourism Board (CTB)has launched the Fly Cambodia Co-Marketing Grant, a co-investment program designed to work with airlines to promote Cambodia directly in international
The initiative comes as Cambodia recently expanded its anom Penh Techo International Airport, which began commercial operations in September 2025, has strengthened the country’s position as an aion project that opened in 2023, is another gateway
Sihanoukville International Airport has also extended its runway to accommodate wide-body aircraft and support long-haul international carriers
But the CTB says airport and airline capacity must be matched by sustained passenger demand. The new grant is intended to address that challenge by helping airlines and the tourism board jointly market Cambodia and convert available seats into bookings
Under the program, CTB will reimburse up to 50% of a participating airline’s verified eligible destination-marketing expenditure in the airline per cycle
The support is only for destination marketingand excludes the operational costs of launching or running an air route. Applications will be assessed against program criteriaand approved subject to available funding
“Air connectivity provides the foundation for market access, but sustained route performance also depends on passenger demand,” said Kim Minea, CEO of the Cambodia Tourism Board
“Airlines know their markets, customers and booking behavior,” Minea added, saying the program will combine CTB’s destination marketing expertise with carriers’ market intelligence and distribution capabilities
The board said it has also been building the foundations for an international tourism campaign, including a national tourism narrative, unique selling propositions, brand architecture, product inventory and a media content library
The goal is to present Cambodia consistently across consumer, trade and business-to-business-to-consumer channels, while challenging outdated perceptions and positioning the country as a year-round destination
Cambodia is promoting a mix of culture, nature, beaches, city experiences and other attractions as it seeks to diversifys, encourage longer stays, spread visitors beyond established destinations and reduce seasonality
The grant builds on previous joint marketing campaigns with airlines and travel platforms, including Air Cambodia, Singapore Airlines and AirAsia
International and local airlines operating routes to Cambodia’s international airports are eligible to apply for the program, subject to the grant’s criteria and funding
