B FREE Wellness is expanding access to mental health care on Cape Cod with the launch of a new Behavioral Health Program that will begin providing outpatient therapy and community-based services in September
The nonprofit organization, based on Cape Cod, announced the program’s launch as part of its mission to address personal and community trauma through mental health, physical wellness and holistic services, according to a community announcement
The program will be led by Clinical Director and B FREE Wellness Founder and Co-Director Ayanna Freedom, LICSW, RYT-500, founder of Embodied Liberation Therapy, a treatment model that integrates trauma-informed psychotherapy, somatic practices, mindfulness and nervous system regulation
“This program is about more than expanding mental health services — it’s about creating a community where healing is accessible, belonging is possible, culturally sensitive approaches are integrated and no one has to do it alone,” said Freedom
The organization said the expansion is intended to increase access to trauma-informed and culturally responsive behavioral health care across Cape Cod
As part of the program’s launch, B FREE Wellness has added two licensed behavioral health clinicians to its clinical team
According to the announcement, the clinicians bring a range of lived experiences and professional backgrounds that reflect the communities served by the organization. One clinician specializes in recovery support and somatic healing
B FREE Wellness said both clinicians will receive specialized training in Embodied Liberation Therapy, further expanding the organization’s trauma-informed care offerings
B FREE Wellness is partnering with Cape Cod Wellness Works in Mashpee and WE CAN in Hyannis to offer therapy services, educational workshops and wellness programming within the communities served by those organizations
The nonprofit also received support through a grant from the Cape Cod Foundation. According to the announcement, the funding will help provide therapy, support groups and crisis intervention services for immigrant families and children affected by ICE enforcement
The organization said those services are intended to address growing demand for culturally responsive behavioral health care
When the Behavioral Health Program opens in September, it will initially accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Tufts Health Plan, Blue Benefit Administrators and Health Plans Inc
B FREE Wellness said additional insurance carriers are expected to be added in the future
Individuals interested in receiving services can join a waitlist before the program begins accepting clients
The organization said the new Behavioral Health Program builds on existing wellness initiatives and community partnerships designed to support individuals, families and communities across Cape Cod
B FREE Wellness is a Cape Cod-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on healing personal and community trauma through the integration of mental health, physical wellness and holistic services. More information is available at bfreewell.org
