HHS Secretary RFK Jr. in Bakersfield to discuss healthy food access in roundtable

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. arrived in Bakersfield Thursday for a roundtable discussion focused on improving access to healthy foods and strengthening nutrition education across the Central Valley
JFK Jr. is expected to meet with local and federal partners to discuss efforts surrounding healthy food access, nutrition and sustainability
According to event organizers, the roundtable will also highlight the hands-on educational programs offered through Edible Schoolyard Kern County, which teaches students about healthy foods and sustainable practices
Kennedy will be joined by Congressman Vince Fong and Dylan Wilson, executive director of the Grimm Family Education Foundation
The roundtable is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Thursday
