Mich. (News 10) – A technology showcase is giving an up-close look at innovations in self-driving cars, drones, rockets, and other emerging technology advancing transportation across Michigan
The clinic highlighted creations aimed at transforming how people and goods move around the state. Industry leaders said sustainability, clean energy, and efficiency are at the forefront of the inventions on display
Some of the emerging technology is nearly ready for public roads. The summit showcased Waymo ahead of the self-driving car’s planned debut in Detroit this winter
Jeff Wesley, executive director of ventures for the MSU Research Foundation, said the technology on display has the potential to benefit people across Michigan
“It’s just amazing how technologies can help us with the simplest and hardest problems,” Wesley said. “You know, you can move around the state. Look at somebody that’s 85 years old that can take an autonomous car and go to different places. Look at the cities, how we can change mobility within the city to give people more opportunities and keep it safe.”
