High school football season is right around the corner
After three weeks of practice, teams across Escambia and Santa Rosa County will face off in kickoff classics later this week. Pace and West Florida will clash at Patriots Stadium on August 13, while the 12 other area teams will play under the lights the next day

Every team is preparing for Week 1, with Milton, Northview and Pensacola Catholic opening the season on August 20 and 10 other teams kicking off the 2026 season the next day. Escambia will open its season at home against Pine Forest on Aug. 28
Below is a Kickoff Classic schedule for Pensacola-area teams

West Florida at Pace, 7 p.m
August 14
Navarre at Escambia, 7 p.m
Pine Forest at Tate, 7 p.m
Walton at Gulf Breeze, 7 p.m
Pensacola at Milton, 7 p.m
Booker T. Washington at Crestview, 7 p.m
Pensacola Catholic vs. Baker/Chipley at Chipley, 7 p.m
Marianna at Northview, 7 p.m
Central at Jay, 7:30 p.m
