Craig Melvin is celebrating some big career news for his wife, Lindsay Czarniak
The “Today” coanchor revealed Sunday, Aug. 9, that Czarniak has landed a new hosting role
“Some breaking family news: CBS Sports Adds Lindsay Czarniak as a Host for @CBSSportsHQ,” the 47-year-old journalist captioned the announcement on Instagram
Melvin expressed his excitement for his wife’s latest career endeavor in three words: “Stoked. Happy. Proud.”
Fans, who flooded the comments section showering her with clapping-hands and heart emojis, won’t have to wait long to see the sportscaster in her new role. Per a joint Instagram post shared by Czarniak and CBS Sports, she will make her CBS Sports HQ debut on Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Who is Craig Melvin’s wife, Lindsay Czarniak?
Czarniak is a host, sportscaster, speaker, and entrepreneur, according to her website. She also runs the podcast “Things No One Tells You,” which is dedicated to “exploring conversations we don’t always have but should” and sharing “untold stories, unspoken struggles, and insights that connect us all.”
Czarniak first crossed paths with her future husband in 2008 while working at WRC-TV, NBC’s Washington, D.C., station. She’d been covering the Beijing Olympics when Melvin joined the station, and he said he already knew who she was before they met on air following her return
Speaking about how they met on “Jenna & Friends” in November, following the couple’s 14-year wedding anniversary, Melvin recalled getting tongue-tied after turning around during a commercial break and unexpectedly seeing Czarniak. “I was like, ‘Hey, welcome back from the Olympics,'” he said, to which he said she jokingly replied, “‘Welcome to Channel 4, loser.’ She didn’t say ‘loser.'”
The longtime lovebirds – who share two boys, Delano, 12, and Sybil, 9 – later used that footage at their Oct. 15, 2011, wedding at the Church of the Holy City in D.C
Melvin’s supportive post comes weeks after he thanked followers for their support following last month’s security incident that occurred off-air on the “Today” set

On July 16, a 41-year-old male intruder named Andrew Truelove slipped past security on July 16 and allegedly called the coanchor a racial slur. He was quickly taken into custody and charged with burglary as a hate crime and menacing as a hate crime, both felonies, according to a Manhattan District Attorney’s complaint obtained by USA TODAY
Truelove allegedly sneaked into the building at 30 Rockefeller Center by following an employee who scanned into a restricted studio with an identification badge, per the complaint. Truelove was allegedly looking for weatherman Al Roker when he encountered Melvin, 47, by a stairwell. Both Roker and Melvin were granted a restraining order from Truelove following the incident
“I’ve heard from so many of you over the last few hours. I’m doing just fine. Thanks for reaching out,” Melvin wrote in an Instagram post following the broadcast. “I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.”
