S.D. (KOTA) – Newly adopted pets and their families can get a free first wellness exam at the Animal Clinic of Rapid City through Sept. 30
The promotion is for healthy pets that have recently been adopted and have not previously been patients at the clinic. Adoption paperwork is not required
The complimentary exam gives new pet owners a chance to establish veterinary care, discuss preventive health and learn about their pet’s ongoing wellness needs
“Bringing home a new pet is an exciting milestone, and we want to help families begin that relationship with a strong foundation of preventive care,” said Tim Schnabel, hospital director at Animal Clinic of Rapid City
During the exam, veterinarians will assess the pet’s overall health and discuss recommendations based on its age, lifestyle and individual needs. Those recommendations may include vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, dental care, diagnostic testing and future preventive care
The free exam is limited to routine wellness visits. Pets showing signs of illness, injury, pain or other medical concerns are not eligible and will need to be scheduled for an appropriate medical, urgent care or emergency visit
Vaccinations, medications, testing, treatments and other services are not included and may be recommended based on the veterinarian’s findings
Appointments are subject to availability, and the number of promotional appointments may be limited
