Shelby Convery will lead the city’s Finance and Information Technology Department, according to a news release issued Friday
Convery joined the city in 2021 as a senior accountant and was later promoted to chief accountant. In April, she was appointed interim finance director following the retirement of Shiela Pearre
The Finance and Information Technology Department oversees the city’s budget, accounting, payroll, contract procurement and information technology operations
According to the news release, Convery has helped oversee the city’s day-to-day financial operations, as well as the annual financial audit and budget
City Administrator Brian Crane said Convery earned the promotion through her knowledge, work ethic and the trust she has built with city employees
“She’s been a steady leader during this transition, and I’m excited to see her continue building on the strong foundation our Finance and IT Department has established,” Crane said in the press release
A job posting for the finance director position listed an annual salary range of $102,032 to $153,049. The position oversees a staff of 20 employees and requires a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience
Convery earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Missouri State University in 2016. Before joining the city, she worked as an accountant in the private sector
