Cast, crew, friends and family at premiere of “Bad News on the Doorstep” on the red carpet at Providence Place (WJAR)
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) —One of the highlights of the Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival was the world premiere of “Bad News on the Doorstep” at the Apple Cinema at Providence Place mall
It’s a coming-of-age story involving athletes and the Mob. It’s led by two father-son acting duos, Chazz Palminteri and his son Dante Palminteri, joined by Robert and Nick Davi
It’s set in 1950s New Jersey, where two up-and-coming football players have to choose between their careers in sports or a life in the mob
The film also features an appearance by a beloved actor well known for roles in “The Sopranos” and “Goodfellas” — Vincent Pastore. Saturday’s premiere comes one week after he passed away at the age of 80
The cast includes New England Patriots Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski as Coach Popalinski and NBC 10 Sports Director Frank Carpano as the assistant coach
The movie was produced by Verdi Productions, which is based in East Greenwich. It was filmed in Rhode Island
