WASHINGTON (TNND) —Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday evening that he was teaming up with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to train them for the Presidential Fitness Test
“Great to see kids getting off their screens and having fun!” Kennedy wrote on the social media platform, X. “Thank you to @BGCA_Clubs, @TripleH, and the @WWE Superstars for helping inspire the next generation to get active and get ready to take the Presidential Fitness Test.”
Kennedy also teamed up with retired American professional wrestler Hunter Hearst Helmsley, known as Triple H to work with the kids
Assistant Secretary of Health Brian Christine said it was a blast teaming up with Triple H and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to get them to take back their health
High school students will also be able to compete in the Patriot Games this month where one male and female from each state will compete in different athletic activities
“Seeing so much energy, determination, and friendly competition was a great reminder that staying active can be a lot of fun!” Christine wrote on X
It was announced last year that President Donald Trump was going to reestablish the Presidential Fitness Test in public schools
The test was created by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966 and requires kids to be able to do sit-ups, pull-ups and a sit-and-reach test
President Barack Obama got rid of the test in 2012 to focus on individual health and started the Presidential Youth Fitness program
