More than a ship, EXPLORA III is a destination in her own right – a floating hotel with an ever-changing view, where expansive design, refined gastronomy, ocean-inspired wellness and thoughtfully curated retail come together to create a bespoke travel experience defined by freedom and choice
Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to nurture calm, presence and a deeper connection to the sea, while offering more space than ever before. From Barcelona, she has begun her Maiden Voyage to Lisbon, before journeying through sunlit Mediterranean shores to the expansive horizons of Northern Europe, Iceland and Greenland. EXPLORA III’s Inaugural Journeys will set the tone for a new era of ocean travel, one defined by space, discovery and a deeper, more meaningful connection with the sea.
As the first LNG-powered ship in the fleet, EXPLORA III underscores Explora Journeys’ commitment to decarbonising its marine operations and reducing its environmental impact, with innovation, responsibility and elegance integrated throughout the ship’s design and operations
Generous sense of place
Combining the elegance of a leading hotel with the freedom of the open sea, Explora Journeys are designed to evoke the feeling of being aboard a private yacht, and EXPLORA III exemplifies the philosophy that space and privacy are central to comfort and ease at sea.
With an increased length of 19.2 m (63 ft), EXPLORA III offers more open-air deck space and one of the highest ratios of total public space per guest, at an impressive 19.5 sqm (210 sq ft). The ship features 461 ocean-front suites, including 104 connecting suites and 11 accessible suites, alongside one of the industry’s leading host-to-guest ratios, with almost one host per guest.
Highlights that demonstrate this include the Lobby, re-envisioned for EXPLORA III as a sculptural, double-height atrium that feels both dramatically spacious and warmly personal, with sinuous curves, Perlato di Sicilia and Sahara Noir marbles, cascading Venini chandeliers and an asymmetrical staircase leading to the circular bar, while The Conservatory Pool & Bar offers more space than ever before, centred around a 14.7-metre pool beneath a retractable glass roof that shifts between open-air freedom and sheltered serenity.
In addition, there are three heated outdoor swimming pools, including the redesigned, adults-only Helios Pool & Bar, which offers uninterrupted panoramic views from the forward part of the ship. Across the ship, guests can enjoy five indoor and outdoor heated whirlpools, while 60 private cabanas and expanded shaded areas throughout the decks offer enhanced comfort and relaxation
Homes at Sea: Suites, Penthouses and Residences
EXPLORA III offers more options than ever for elevated space and privacy, with an increased number of Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences designed for serenity, connection and the freedom to embrace the Ocean State of Mind. The ship’s 313 Ocean Suites, 109 Penthouses and 39 Ocean Residences are true homes at sea, every one oceanfront and designed for unparalleled comfort. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows invite natural daylight into calm, residential interiors, while private terraces extend living space outdoors with sweeping ocean views.
While EXPLORA I and II offer one Owner’s Residence – the largest and most exclusive home at sea – EXPLORA III offers a second Owner’s Residence, designed by Patricia Urquiola, one of the world’s most celebrated architects and designers. Spanning 315 sqm (3,391 sq ft), it features warm, tactile materials, curated artworks and exceptional furnishings by Moroso, Cassina, Cappellini and Kettal, alongside lighting by Flos, Cassina and Nemo Lighting. A marble bathroom and private steam room create a nest-like sanctuary, while outside, a private whirlpool, daybeds, dining and lounging areas encourage immersive indoor-outdoor living.
A World of Culinary and Beverage Experiences
EXPLORA III expands the culinary experiences introduced aboard EXPLORA I and II, with returning favourites Anthology, Sakura, Med Yacht Club, Fil Rouge, Emporium Marketplace and Marble & Co. Grill refreshed with new design elements. Three new concepts also debut: Shore Club on 11, offering Mediterranean-inspired poolside dining at The Conservatory; The Chef’s Table by Explora Journeys, combining live preparation, storytelling and immersive presentation; and The Cellar by Explora Journeys, where guests can explore rare vintages and indigenous varietals with expert guidance.
Across 12 bars and lounges, including the Lobby Bar and The Conservatory Pool & Bar, guests can enjoy a broad range of drinks and social settings. The Malt Whisky Bar is joined by a new Outdoor Cigar Lounge, offering rare whiskies and premium spirits in the fresh ocean air
Ocean Wellness, Reimagined
On EXPLORA III, Ocean Wellness has been thoughtfully reimagined as a single, harmonious sanctuary dedicated to balance, restoration and renewal. The 726 sqm (7,815 sq ft) ocean-inspired sanctuary brings the ship’s spa, wellness and fitness areas together on Deck 5, featuring a hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna, steam room, salt cave, experience showers, ice fall, heated marble loungers and dedicated relaxation areas
Ocean Wellness – The Spa offers new signature treatments and curated collaborations, while the new Sava Sound Pod harnesses low-frequency waves to encourage deep relaxation, mental clarity and restoration. A newly designed fitness space features the Technogym Sand Stone collection, Technogym Reform Pilates equipment and a private training studio
Fitness extends outdoors with an expanded Sports Court featuring a full-size padel court, alongside pickleball and basketball, an extended running track and Open Air Fitness
Thoughtful Spaces for Families and Younger Travellers
EXPLORA III introduces two distinct Nautilus Club spaces for younger guests, designed to inspire creativity while preserving the calm, refined atmosphere of the ship. Nautilus Club Juniors offers a tailored environment for children aged 3 to 5, while Nautilus Club Teens provides an engaging hub for ages 6 to 17, with enriching experiences led by expert Nautilus Hosts. A limited number of younger guests per journey ensures that families feel welcome while maintaining the sense of tranquillity valued by all on board.
