Two Chicago hospitals are once again ranked among the top 20 in the nation, according to new U.S. News and World Report rankings
Northwestern Memorial and Rush University <a href="https://todaytrendnews7.com/robert-wood-johnson-university-hospital-cooperman-barnabas-medical-center-named-best-hospitals-by-u-s-news-world-report/" title="Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Named Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report”>Medical Center both made the publication’s Honor Roll, which recognizes the country’s top-performing hospitals

The “Best Hospitals” list, released Tuesday, evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals around the nation across 14 specialties and data points like patient care, patient outcomes, patient experience, staffing and more
“Only 178 U.S. hospitals performed well enough to be nationally ranked in one or more specialties,” the publication stated
Chicago also ranked near the top nationally, with 20 hospitals earning “Best Regional Hospital” honors for providing care to underserved patients
The “Best Regional Hospitals” were ranked based how well they performed across at least 23 procedures and conditions, including common ones like hip replacement and heart failure
“These state and metro area rankings offer information on community hospitals that are highly rated but may not be nationally ranked,” editors said

Across the country, just 504 hospitals of the thousands evaluated made the “Best Regional Hospitals” list. In Illinois, nine of the best regional hospitals were nationally ranked

6. Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital – Winfield
7. Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital – Lake Forest
8. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital – Park Ridge
9. Endeavor Health Edward Hospital – Naperville
