A pair of jet-setting social media influencers from Europe raved about Detroit during their first visit to Michigan
Dylan Evans and Adriana de Pertis, who post about their world travels under the social media handle 2Pasports1Dream, on Monday shared a video they took at Campus Martius Park
Evans voiced appreciation that the park was a designated smoke-free zone and said he appreciated the police tower that had been erected nearby to provide security during a marketplace event
“We feel extremely safe here. It’s been totally walkable,” he said
Their experiences contradicted what they’d heard about the Motor City
“Apparently Detroit is meant to be like a ghost town a couple decades ago,” Evans said
“Creepy, dark, everyone left. It went bankrupt, I think,” de Pertis added
As they sipped coffees from the nearby Roasting Plant cafe, they said they were making plans to try Detroit-style pizza later in the day, along with “loads of activities.”
Fans were quick to comment with recommendations, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Michigan Central Station and Belle Isle. Others told them to check out Mackinac Island and Traverse City if they wanted to see more of Michigan
Evans from North Wales and de Pertis from Sweden post travel content featuring road trips, cruises, food, hotels and destination reviews
According to a 2023 Yahoo! Life article, the couple met in 2018, began a relationship, saved money together for two years, then quit their jobs in 2020 to become full-time travel vloggers. They now have more than 293,000 followers on YouTube, plus another 239,000 on TikTok, 137,000 on Facebook and 51,000 on Instagram
