The Namkeen Hot Chicken chain will open its first location in Texas, choosing Plano as the site for its Nashville-style fried chicken featuring flavors inspired by Pakistani cuisine.
The restaurant will occupy a 1,626-square-foot space at Beacon Square, on 565 Coit Road in Plano. It is expected to open this fall, according to a news release.
The name “namkeen” comes from Urdu, the national language of Pakistan, and means “savory.” The restaurant’s chicken is marinated in buttermilk, breaded and prepared with a blend of South Asian spices, combined with the spicy flavor profile of Nashville-style fried chicken.

The chain was founded in 2020 in New Jersey and has since expanded to include additional restaurants in New Jersey, New York, Georgia and Canada.
This year, the company began expanding through a franchise program. The Plano location is a franchise.
Beacon Square is an 83-acre development that combines residential housing — with more than 500 apartments — with retail and office space. Other businesses slated to come include Stella’s Ice Cream, Sleek Crêperie Café and Livewell Animal Hospital
